show moreLow-and-slow WordPress brute force against beanythingmuseum.org. This IP sent 2 failed POST /wp-login.php today (first at 22/Oct/2026:05:12:58 +0000, HTTP 200 = authentication failed), and has now made 67 failed login attempts across 32 separate days. It deliberately paces itself at about two attempts per day -- below any per-IP rate threshold -- which is automated credential guessing designed to evade rate-based blocking, not a user who forgot a password. Zero successful authentications. This site was compromised in Aug 2026 and remediated on 2026-08-17.

show moreWordPress credential brute-force against beanythingmuseum.org, low-and-slow. Today (04:55 17:02 UTC) it made failed POST /wp-login.php attempts, HTTP 200 (auth failed). Lifetime in our retained logs: 65 failed login POSTs across 33 distinct days, roughly 2 per day about 12 hours apart, with ZERO successful authentications. That pacing is deliberately set below per-IP rate thresholds and the perfect zero-success record over 33 days proves a credential script rather than a locked-out account owner.

show moreLow-and-slow distributed WordPress credential-stuffing against beanythingmuseum.org. Today: POST /wp-login.php at 20/Oct/2026:04:42:42 20/Oct/2026:16:48:38 (all HTTP 200 = authentication failed), User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/149.0.0.0 Safari/537.36. Sustained campaign: 63 failed login POSTs from this IP across 32 separate days of retained logs, and ZERO successful logins (no HTTP 302) in the entire corpus - this is not a locked-out user, it is a script. Pacing is deliberately ~2 attempts per day, roughly 12 hours apart, to stay under per-IP rate limits and brute-force jails.

show moreContinuing low-and-slow WordPress credential stuffing against beanythingmuseum.org, third consecutive day. POST /wp-login.php at 2026-10-19 04:14:57 and 16:27:22 UTC, both HTTP 200 (failure). 61 failed login POSTs since 2026-09-09: exactly 2/day about 12h apart, every day through 10-06 and again 10-17/18/19, with zero HTTP 302 successes in the entire history. Chrome/148 and Chrome/149 Windows UA rotation plus full login asset fetches.

show moreWordPress credential brute-force against beanythingmuseum.org: 2 failed POST /wp-login.php on 2026-10-18 at 03:52:46 and 16:07:25 UTC; 59 failed login POSTs total from this address since 2026-09-09, every one returning the failed-login page and not a single successful authentication. Paced 2/day to stay under fail2ban maxretry, rotating User-Agent between Chrome/148 and Chrome/149 on Windows. Loads full login page assets to mimic a browser.

show moreLow-and-slow WordPress credential stuffing, day 2 of an ongoing campaign against beanythingmuseum.org. On 24 Sep 2026: exactly 2 POSTs to /wp-login.php at 06:52 and 19:38 UTC (~12.8h apart, deliberately under rate-limit thresholds), both failed. 55 requests per visit rendering the full login page including zxcvbn.min.js and password-strength-meter.min.js - a headless browser, not a POST script. UA Chrome/149.0.0.0. Same signature observed 23 Sep. Part of a 7-IP coordinated set.

show moreLow-and-slow distributed WordPress credential stuffing against beanythingmuseum.org. On 2026-09-23 this IP made exactly 2 POST /wp-login.php attempts (both HTTP 200 = failed) at 06:38:33 18:47:09 UTC - a scheduled ~12-hour interval, deliberately calibrated to stay under any per-IP rate limit. It is not a simple script: it drives a real browser engine, fetching all 48 assets of the login page each visit (dashicons.min.css, zxcvbn.min.js 402KB, password-strength-meter.min.js, the site logo) to mimic a human, with a current Chrome/149 User-Agent. 721 requests from this address in our logs to date. It is one of 7 hosts running an identical twice-daily pattern against this single site. Zero successful logins.
