show moreSingle SSH login using ftpuser/pC+6Ki@Tn8++7_L. Attacker checked uname -a, CPU count, process list, and writable locations (/dev/shm, /tmp, /var/run, /mnt, /root, /). Dropped w.sh in /tmp (script, 1.4 KB, sha256:bc36e729c6463e7120677c0d59b9d793401b320520201043048577d4d94cee28), then attempted persistence via crontab @reboot entry referencing /tmp/w.sh and by creating ~/.config/systemd/user/watcher-netai.service, followed by systemctl --user daemon-reload and enable --now. No lateral movement or additional downloads were observed.

show moreSingle SSH session using ftpuser/pC+6Ki@Tn8++7_L from SSH-2.0-Go. Activity focused on establishing persistence and staging a script: created /tmp/w.sh with cat > w.sh and chmod +x, checked crontab, and attempted to add an @reboot entry referencing /tmp/w.sh with args "astats" "netai" "kstats" and "ssh 2 az". Also attempted user-level systemd persistence by creating ~/.config/systemd/user/watcher-netai.service, reloading the user daemon, and enabling it with systemctl --user enable --now. Reconnaissance commands collected CPU/core count (cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep processor | wc -l), OS/kernel info (uname -a), and process activity (ps -eo pid, pcpu, comm --sort=-pcpu | head -n 10). No downloads, lateral movement, or dropped artifacts were observed.

show moreObserved a single SSH session using hadoop/hadoop via SSH-2.0-Go. The actor checked CPU count and top processes, then searched for competing instances of astats and kstats. They attempted persistence by reading crontab and adding an @reboot entry to run /dev/shm/w.sh with arguments including astats, netai, kstats, and ssh 2 az. They created or staged files in /dev/shm, including w.sh, astats, and kstats. They also executed log-clearing commands targeting .bash_history, utmp, wtmp, lastlog, yum.log, and secure. No downloads, hashes, or lateral movement were observed.
